What would you say are the three most requested Ayurvedic treatments people are aware of?
Shirodhara and Abayanga are two treatments that the public is most aware of due to the increasing popularity of Spa going and with multiculturalism Spas are beginning to offer modalities from different countries. Panchakarma is a popular treatment that Dr. Varma specialies in, balancing the person by encouraging elimination of toxins that drag the body and mind down and encouraging healthy flora in the body that brings in energy and optimism.

Mothering is a big need, not just mothers but the nurturing qualities of a Mother; caring, sympathetic, encouraging, understanding and loving unconditionally. Mothers are more stressed today with the demands to be 'Supermom' in our society and it is being evidenced in illnesses such as IBS (Irritated Bowel Syndrome), Chrone's Disease and other gastro-intestinal problems. Our common Mother Earth is not being nurtured properly, we are raping Her by extracting her life's blood that is oil, and ravaging her water and land resources in our ever-expanding need to grow and develop. In 100 years population has expanded from one billion to nearly seven billion and due to reach ten billion in another twenty years. No wonder She is rebelling. We ned to put more value in Mothering, give it more respect, raising the future generation is the most important job in the world and by educating parents in Mothering skills it will help create a society that is self-confident and caring.
Belief in and having a Value System is important, a lot of people haven't found a replacement for their loss of trust in the governments and the religions. Values and Ethics are needed to connect people together in helping and respecting each other. In the past children were taught values from school, church and family all working together in harmony to instill 'proper values' and morals. Now children are leaning towards their peers for a value system because parents are too busy working to maintain a living and schools are forbidden to bring religion into the classroom. It would be healthier for us to educate our young by bringing a course into the schools that includes understanding of the many religious beliefs that people hold today.
